American voters should read the Mueller report then turn the page

BARR, asked if Mueller intended for Congress, not the attorney general, to decide whether Trump obstructed justice: "Well, Special Counsel Mueller did not indicate that his objective was to leave the decision to Congress".

President Donald Trump and his attorney general are distorting the facts when it comes to special counsel Robert Mueller's report in the Russian Federation investigation. While newsrooms across the country digested the report, the White House guests, already seated waiting for the president to arrive, were entertained by the U.S. Marine Band. "Now it's Congress's turn to weigh the evidence against the president, decide what merits a response and act in the best interests of our democracy", he went on.

Special counsel Robert Mueller's long-awaited report outlined Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

The report, 448 pages in length, describes in detail how the Russian GRU intelligence unit hacked the Clinton campaign's emails, which were subsequently leaked by WikiLeaks.

They included how the president tried to fire Mueller and limit his investigation, kept details of a June 2016 meeting between senior campaign officials and a Russian under wraps, and possibly dangled a pardon to a former adviser.

It may be special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation report, but the spotlight Thursday belonged just as much to the attorney general who made it public. A few blocks away, there was calm on one of the defining days of Trump's presidency. Thursday's release detailed ten episodes in which questions over such charges were weighed.

The report emphasized that, contrary to the Republican president's claim, he had not been cleared of obstruction of justice.

Barr sent Congress a redacted version of the Mueller report, blacking out several types of material, including classified information, material pertaining to ongoing investigations and grand jury evidence.

"Trump told Sessions, "'you were supposed to protect me, ' or words to that effect", Sessions recalled, the Mueller report stated.

"If we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state", the report says.

A spokeswoman for the car-sharing service said in a statement to ABC News that the company is actively recovering its vehicles. Car2go's global fleet in January totaled almost 14,000 vehicles in 25 locations in North America, Europe and Asia.

Here are six things Trump did after he assumed office that investigators scrutinized and Mueller's analysis of whether they could constitute obstruction. He also praised the White House's co-operation with the investigation and appeared to justify the president's anger over it, saying Trump "faced an unprecedented situation" and people must bear in mind the context.

President Donald Trump's spokeswoman Sarah Sanders is pushing back on allegations that special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation report exposed a culture of lying at the White House.

On the second call, the report said, McGahn recalled the president telling him that "Mueller has to go" and "Call me back when you do it". "McFarland declined because she did not know whether that was true, and a White House Counsel's Office attorney thought the request would look like a quid pro quo for an ambassadorship she had been offered", the report says.

Mueller said he recognized that any charging recommendation could "potentially pre-empt constitutional processes for addressing presidential misconduct, " an apparent reference to Congress' impeachment powers.

Claiming that Barr has been working to whitewash the Russian Federation report, Democrats will push for more details and testimony in the near future. "We recognized that a federal criminal accusation against a sitting President would place burdens on the President's capacity to govern", the report said.

The president has, shall we say, a loose relationship with the truth.

Mueller didn't accuse Trump of a crime, in large part, because he didn't think he could - and not necessarily because the evidence was so inconclusive.

"It is imperative that the rest of the report and the underlying documents be made available to Congress and that Special Counsel Mueller testify before both chambers as soon as possible", they said.

"The IRA also recruited moderators of conservative social media groups to promote IRA-generated content, as well as recruited individuals to perform political acts (such as walking around New York City dressed up as Santa Claus with a Trump mask)".
