SpaceX pulled off an incredible feat in its second Falcon Heavy launch

"On Thursday, April 11 at 6:35 p.m. EDT, Falcon Heavy launched the Arabsat-6A satellite from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida".

"The Falcons have landed", Musk wrote on Twitter, inaugurating the first successful recovery of all three rocket boosters, which will be refurbished and re-fly in another Falcon Heavy mission this summer to carry a swarm of military and science satellites for the Air Force.

Update April 11th, 7:15PM ET: SpaceX's Falcon Heavy successfully deployed Arabsat-6A into orbit, and all three of the rocket's cores landed intact after takeoff. For that flight, SpaceX launched CEO Elon Musk's Tesla Roadster into space, putting the Roadster on a distant path around the Sun that crosses the orbit of Mars.

SpaceX and Boeing Co are vying to send humans to space from United States soil for the first time in almost a decade under NASA's Commercial Crew Program.

The side boosters are already marked for Falcon Heavy's next mission, now set for June.

About eight minutes after liftoff, the reusable rocket's two side boosters landed back on ground near the launch center, showed SpaceX's live broadcast.

In the test mission, Heavy's core booster missed the vessel and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean. Falcon Heavy's first flight was a history-making affair.

This rocket launch attracted scores of space tourists to the Space Coast throughout the week.

"Successful deployment of Arabsat-6A to geosynchronous transfer orbit confirmed-completing Falcon Heavy's first commercial mission!" . And the Falcon Heavy is the most powerful, operational option.

More than a year later, SpaceX has now launched the 70-meter-high Falcon Heavy, created to carry more than 64 metric tonnes of cargo, with the Arabsat-6A on board.

Ultimately, NASA decided that it would stick with the SLS to perform the mission, but Bridenstine noted that the Falcon Heavy could become a part of NASA's long-term plans in the future.

The Falcon Heavy's two side boosters gracefully lower themselves onto the landing zones at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. SpaceX has a almost two-hour launch window, so the company can launch up until 8:31PM ET.
