San Diego travelers react to grounding of Boeing 737 MAX jets

Airlines that serve Logan Airport are responding to the FAA's emergency order to ground Boeing 737 Max aircraft following Sunday's deadly Ethiopia Airlines crash in Addis Ababa.

"I heard the story of the flights that crashed before I got on the plane to come here", said Eric Speer flying out of Pitt-Greenville Airport alongside Hoppenstein.

Garneau said the similarities "exceed a certain threshold in our minds with respect to the possible cause of what happened in Ethiopia".

Boeing is under heavy scrutiny after the crash of an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 that killed all 157 aboard.

"The safety notice issued by Transport Canada earlier today permitted the movement of Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft within Canadian airspace for repositioning", the email reads.

Referring to the Lion Air crash in Indonesia that killed 189 people previous year, European regulators said Tuesday that "similar causes may have contributed to both events".

It said the CAD had noted that the U.S. Federation Aviation Administration has affirmed the planes' airworthiness and that investigations were ongoing.

The airline says some delays and cancellations will occur "as this is a very fluid situation".

He said Ms Shaw had been fasting and she may have passed out or fallen "due to her lack of intake of food and fluid". The Lucie Blackman Trust , which has been helping Ms Shaw's family, said "foul play was probably not involved".

Air Canada cancelled London-bound flights from Halifax and St. John's, N.L., after the United Kingdom banned all Boeing Max 8 jets from its airspace. In the US airlines like American, South West, and United are impacted.

Meanwhile, Boeing recommended a temporary suspension of the "entire global fleet" of the 737 MAX aircraft on Wednesday.
