Modi, 48, is now living in a three-bedroom flat occupying half of a floor of the landmark Centre Point tower block, where rent is estimated to cost 17,000 pounds a month, as per the British Daily report. The Telegraph has also learned from a source in the British government that Nirav has been assigned a National Insurance number by the Department for Work & Pensions, and he is able to operate online bank accounts in the UK. The newspaper reported that he was wearing a jacket that was made of ostrich hide, which would have cost at least 10,000 British pounds.

According to The Telegraph, Nirav is now involved in a new diamond business run from an office in Soho, a few hundred yards from his new flat in West End.

Nirav Modi, against whom an extradition request is pending before the United Kingdom authorities, was seen sporting a handlebar moustache with full face beard.

"The business, which was incorporated last May, is linked to his flat in Centre Point although he is not listed as a director at Companies House", the Telegraph reported, wondering how Modi's presence remained unnoticed by the British authorities. He has also been in contact with a wealth management company based in west London, which specialises in advice to rich foreigners. When the publication asked Modi outside his office whether he'd applied for political asylum to enjoy such liberties, the billionaire refused to comment.
