On NBC's Meet the Press, Manigault Newman claimed that Pierson told her she had heard Trump say the N-word, a claim Pierson rejected.
Omarosa Manigault-Newman, a former aide to US President Donald Trump, on Sunday said she secretly recorded her firing by John Kelly, the chief of staff, in the high-security White House Situation Room. "And then you can go on without any type of difficulty in the future relative to your reputation".
Manigault told NBC host Chuck Todd that she took that as a threat. In a subsequent interview, she changed her story to say that she had heard Trump utter that word, a reversal that highlighted her not-exactly-sterling level of credibility.
She went on to add, "It's sad that a disgruntled former White House employee is trying to profit off these false attacks, and even worse that the media would now give her a platform, after not taking her seriously when she had only positive things to say about the President during her time in the administration". "So yes I recorded myself and I have no regret about it".
"Meet the Press" aired brief parts of the taped conversation, which included Kelly speaking to Manigault Newman about her reputation and some "pretty serious integrity violations" against her.
Omarosa needs a lawyer-she made a recording of the White House Chief of Staff in a classified area called a SCIF.

Speaking to TMZ earlier today, White House press secretary Sanders was asked if Manigault should be prosecuted for her actions.

She writes, "I rejected what other people said about him because they didn't know him like I did". But Sunday she tells Chuck Todd that, after the book closed, she was able to hear it personally.
