Mike Pence calls for creation of space force by 2020

Five of the six logos proposed have the words "Space Force" on them, while the sixth says "Mars Awaits". After the Trump administration announced it would close down the Russian consulate in Seattle, the Russian embassy asked its Twitter followers to vote for which U.S. consulate they'd like to see shuttered in Russia.

Pence portrayed the change as a response to foes' potential aggression rather than any offensive USA military effort.

The concept of a space force roused Twitter critics ranging from Luke Skywalker to Russian Federation.

On Tuesday, however, the Pentagon chief said he fully supported the idea of creating a new US Space Command.

"Our administration will soon take action to implement these recommendations with the objective of establishing the United States Department of the Space Force by the year 2020", Pence added. The last time the US created a new uniformed military service was in 1947, when the Air Force was launched after World War II.

Baker Mayfield's First TD Ball Thrown Back By Giants Fan
He received a ton of work in six series and looked, well, mostly like the big-play magician who won the Heisman trophy past year . However, in his second series on the field, Mayfield connected with tight end David Njoku for a short touchdown pass.

American defence secretary Jim Mattis endorsed plans to reorganise the military's space fighting forces and create a new command, but has previously opposed launching an expensive separate new service. Next year's budget will seek funding and authorization for the venture. "I don't. I wouldn't vote in favour of it".

And as the world's space development leader, the United States "relies on space for everything from popular commercial systems to critical military and intelligence systems". For example, Russian Federation and China are pursuing anti-satellite weapons, including lasers, to "reduce USA military effectiveness". And there are growing worries about cyberattacks that could target satellite technology, potentially leaving troops in combat without electronic communications or navigation abilities. The Air Force is now in charge of the US military's space capabilities. Space Force as a presidential marketing campaign, however, is already blasting off. In the second phase, the Pentagon would combine all the components into the new sixth branch of service.

A legislative proposal with necessary authorities for the space branch will be filed with the 2020 National Defense Authorization bill, according to DOD's report to Congress. "We are glad that the Pentagon is finally taking these steps in enhancing our space strength". The campaign also said it would sell branded merchandise about the Force. It is a process we're in. That includes everything from satellites enabling the Global Positioning System to sensors that help track missile launches. The Air Force, after all, is run by pilots, not astronauts.

Mattis once voiced opposition to creating a new branch of the U.S. military to focus on space-based military assets, saying in a 2017 letter to a lawmaker that would likely "present a narrower and even parochial approach to space operations".

Key among these is the creation of US Space Command, a new organizational body that would draw in members of existing military branches.
