Mike Williams (back) will make Chargers debut in Week 6

New York Giants wide receivers were hit especially hard by injuries on Sunday, leaving them in a big hole.

On their next drive, the Chargers responded with a 12-play, 92-yard scoring drive in which Rivers connected with tight end Hunter Henry on a 25-yard touchdown to make it 17-16 Los Angeles at the end of the third quarter. He had a career-high 69 yards on eight carries, including a 23-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Gordon gained 163 yards from scrimmage while the Chargers defense sacked Manning five times. Wing also pinned the Chargers at their own three, 10, and 12 after having just one punt downed inside the 20 entering Week 5.

WR MISERY: Giants WRs Sterling Shepard and Brandon Marshall left the game on the same second-quarter series with sprained left ankles.

Williams has yet to make his National Football League debut because of a back injury he suffered over the summer in rookie minicamp.

Williams suffered a herniated disk in his lower back during the first practice of rookie minicamp in May, which forced him to miss training camp and the team's first four games of the season after being placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list this summer.

It led to a safety three plays later when Rivers wasn't expecting a snap and the quarterback swept the ball out of the back of the end zone.
